New Problem Gambling Campaign Begins for SPGH

The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Hotline has announced a new general awareness campaign. The campaign promotes the hotline and will encourage people to call in if they think they need help.

The campaign was created in partnership with Brown Communications Group, and uses humour to capture viewers’ attention. The ads feature bright images of a man who has lost a bet at a bar, with the caption, “Stop making stupid bets.” Some ads also feature extra messaging that details certain signs of having a gambling problem.

Problem gambling is an issue in Saskatchewan that primarily affects men. Research shows that men who partake in online gambling are most likely to respond to humorous messages. The new campaign was developed based on these findings, and is intended to grab the attention of mobile gambling app users.
