Prevention and Education
The Ministry of Health’s prevention approach includes a range of education and health promotion strategies that strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities to identify and respond to gambling-related issues.
Provincial problem gambling prevention and awareness initiatives have included:
- Provincial Problem Gambling Media Campaign (link can be made to radio ads and a brief description of the previous campaigns)

Gambling Awareness Program (GAP),CMHA
The Gambling Awareness Program (GAP) promotes responsible gambling and explores problem gambling behaviors through public presentations and the distribution of resources. GAP has a variety of engaging presentations, interactive displays, and responsible gambling education resources that are 100% free to Saskatchewan residents.
GAP Coordinators travel across the province to deliver presentations on an array of subjects including how gambling works, risk, odds, probability, problem gambling and signs of addiction, including information on where to go for help for problem gambling services and support in Saskatchewan.
GAP is a program of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Saskatchewan Division, and receives support from the Community Initiatives Fund and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health.
